Oliver Stegen is a member of SIL International. He is currently based in Siegen, Germany, and is currently working as Linguistics consultant for the SIL Uganda-Tanzania branch.
He has completed a M.A. in Linguistics in 1993, and a PhD in Linguistics in 2011, both at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
His research interests include the languages of East Africa, language description, and written discourse analysis. He is currently working in a Rangi language project, and specializes in the description of East African languages (especially Bantu), orthography development, and discourse analysis. He is also currently involved in projects involving Mbugwe, Kwaya, Ikizu, Simbiti, Zinza, Ikoma, Jita, Kabwa, and Zanaki.
