The Rift Valley Bibliography

The Rift Valley Bibliography is an open access digital bibliography of publications related to the languages of the Tanzanian Rift Valley Area (Kießling et al. 2008) and associated speech communities. Version 1.3 of the bibliography includes 939 entries and is accompanied by a collection of PDF files that is available exclusively for members of the Rift Valley Network.

Bibliography Formats

The bibliography available in three different formats to serve the needs of different users.
  1. Text Document - This is the most basic format of the bibliography. It consists of a text document that includes all of the entries of the bibliography in alphabetical order, and organized by language and family.
  2. .RIS / .BIBTEX -  These formats can be used to import the entire bibliography into a reference manager application, such as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, etc.
  3. Zotero Group - The Zotero Group forms the basis of the ongoing development of the bibliography, and any member of the Rift Valley Network can join the Group. To join the Group, you must first register for a free account. If you use the Zotero application, then you can sync your account so that the Rift Valley Bibliography automatically updates. Contributions to the bibliography can be made either directly through the Zotero application or through the web interface.

PDF Collection

The collection of PDFs that accompanies the bibliography is only for research use by members of the Rift Valley Network. If you have a question about the PDF collection, please send an email to the RVN mailing list (rvn@listserv.linguistlist.org).
